I'm looking to set up a Facebook account for my business area. We want to use it for our online panel (ca. 20,000 respondents) to use as an alternative to eMailing our help desk. Does anyone know of good guides to setting up Facebook for use in that way? Is there are 'how to' Facebook guide?

Rachel,Depending on how you want to use it specifically, there are different benefits between using a Facebook page and a Facebook group.Either one will let you create a discussion tab to set up a message board of sorts, and they each have a wall that you can enable posting on. Groups are better for internal things since you can make them private, but inviting some 20,000 respondents to a Facebook group doesn't seem feasible. You're better off pointing them to a Facebook page.Page's are pretty straight forward to set up. Once 25 or so people 'Like' your page, you can set a vanity URL for it (ex: facebook.com/makeuseof).You can probably find a guide online somewhere if you search for it, but honestly it might be best just to get on there and experiment with the features.

A facebook profile is not good for a company usage. A facebook page is a better option. Create a facebook page because on a profile you can't add more than 5000 people while on a page you can interact with millions of people.
