AVG is free for personal & business use and provides and real time protection, but Avast has some more extra features which includes the behavior blocker, p2p protection, intelligent scanner, network shield and chat protection… http://technical-support-squad.blogspot.in/2012/05/avast-free-vs-avg-free.html

pc113 just for your information I have been stung quite bad by doing a similar thing with another free Anti Virus software. Pirating Antivirus software is like playing with fire. They know, they know just how to beat the software you are not paying for. Plausible deniability on their part too.

avast is pretty.

AVG might be the better one. It has a good user interface. It can identify a wide range of viruses. Doesn't affect you pc speed and does not interrupt several times in betweenDetects trojans and other viruses. I have also seen it detecting zeus trojan, though it was not installed but it pointed to the folder in which i had the source code of zeus.you can access the purchased version for free by entering the license key availableon pirate bay. it has license upto 2018. Enjoy. and live a virus free life. tc

Hello, avast has AVG beaten hands down. Between the two, I would say the edge is provided by Avast specially because now it includes the sandboxing section to run programs without affecting your system.

Generally, no antivirus program is 100% perfect in terms of protection. It would take a lot of exposure tell which one is better, especially that the viruses themselves continue to evolve and become more sophisticated. It’s also up to the user which suits him best.AVG is perhaps the most user friendly free antivirus program. It allows you to specifically scan a file or the system when needed. Its update schedule can also be set according to what suits you better. Its email scanner allows you to scan emails in Outlook and Incredimail. In addition, it also has a link scanner, and a web and resident shield.you have to hit "Change Scan Settings" and tick "Scan system environment" to enable the process and registry scan. Avg rated #1 in threat detection by independent anti-virus testing labs. (AVG Internet Security was rated Number 1 in threat detection by AV-Test Org May-August 2010.)Prestigious companies worldwide and institutes in many fields rely on AVG's security products, and many companies depend upon AVG as a strong partner in the field of data security and privacy. see references page: https://www.anrdoezrs.net/links/7251228/type/dlg/sid/UUmuoUeUpU84802/http://www.avg.com/references Avast boasts of its frequent and fast updates whose cleaning features are the same as the Pro,. Avast is also highly configurable which enables smooth operation. Many use Avast for its antirootkit and antispyware feature. When it comes to scanning your emails for viruses, Avast is the top pick. It has an internet mail shield which allows scanning of your emails from malicious sources. However, Avast detects Trojans weakly. It could not delete, repair, or move to chest some of its Trojan detections. The latest Avast has also become bloated with many added features that could cause your PC to slow down.with Pro Antivirus 5.0 offering also a virtualization sandbox (an AutoSandbox will be included also in the Free Antivirus version of upcoming 6.0 series, but Pro Antivirus will always have additional features that do not come with Free Antivirus). The problem with Avast Pro and Sandbox feature is that some innocent programs are claimed by avast to be run in Sandbox.http://www.techishare.com/security/is-avast-internet-security-6-worth-buying/you can decide from this report which one to choosehttp://www.av-comparatives.org/en/comparativesreviews/summary-reports

In my experience, Avast has always been an outstanding anti-virus, both free and paid versions. I've never had a good experience with AVG and I've tried it multiple times. It is my belief that Avast is much lighter on system resources, meanwhile being far more effective and efficient at detecting malware threats and keeping them gone, along with a very nice configuration array, so that you have more control.
