One of the best features that only Pixel users get is the Pixel Launcher. And one of the best features offered by the launcher is the "At a Glance" widget. It surfaces lots of useful information, and it has just received a nifty little update that'll allow it to display emergency weather alerts.

Pixel 'At a Glance' Weather Alerts

The new feature, which was first spotted by 9To5Google, takes up two lines when a weather alert is available, making it quite apparent and easy to spot. If you live in a place where major weather events are common, this is a handy feature to have. Even if you don't, it's still nice to be prepared if something out of the ordinary happens.

The two-line alert will block the widget's day/date section, but the current weather will still fit with the alert. Again, that's only when an alert is actually available. Everything looks normal for the rest of the time.

Another thing to note is that warnings are persistent, so they'll stick around until the threat passes.

Not a Fan of the Alert?

If you find that the new feature is a little too much, Google has provided a quick and easy way to disable it.

You need to hold down the At a Glance space until a Preferences option appears. From there, tap the tick box next to Weather Alerts to disable them.
