I'm quite desperate! I am trying to get mailto links to open up in Gmail instead of Thunderbird in Chrome. I googled for solutions, tried many of them, but it just doesn't work! I have no idea what's wrong. I tried the extension that is supposed to accomplish this, I tried various registry edits, but even after restarting Chrome, mailto links continue opening in Thunderbird!
What's wrong with my computer? How can I get this to work?

Did you read what google support said ? Download the Gmail Notifierhttp://toolbar.google.com/gmail-helper/notifier_windows.html Right-click the Notifier icon in your system tray, and select Options. Check the box next to Use Gmail for internet mailto: links. Click OK.If you decide later that you don't want to use Gmail as your default email application, simply uncheck the box.source :http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=10966
