You can stop unneeded services and programs from starting. If they don't start, they do not have to be shut down. This will not only speed up Shutdown but Startup as well.

Well, it can be done by a simple command in the Run dialouge or using a batch file!Save a file as anythinghere.bat or run the following command using the Run dialouge (winkey + R) as follows:shhutdown -s -fHere, -f means forced shutdown, so, the overall process will be speed up! So it is a much safer thing to do.I hope this helps.
