There has been a lot of speculation regarding Apple's potential new products recently. A new rumor from Luke Miani suggests that Apple will release two completely redesigned MacBook Pros later in 2021.

Luke Miani's New MacBook Pros Rumor

In a new video, Luke Miani explains that Apple might release two completely redesigned MacBook Pros later in 2021. The rumored devices sport a design change as well as some notable new features.

The new rumor comes jointly from Miani and Twitter user @AppleLe257, who previously rumored that the Apple Music HiFi tier would release on May 18. The source supplied icons that would be used on the Apple Store website to help create renders.

Miani says he hasn't personally verified the information, so would call this a rumor rather than a leak. Bear that in mind before you get too excited.

What Are the New MacBook Pros Rumored to Look Like?

In the video, Miani explains that he expects Apple to release a 14.1-inch model and a 16.1-inch model of the MacBook Pro. He shows that both devices will have a completely redesigned look with slightly rounder edges than before.

Both MacBook Pros could also be thinner than current models. The 14-inch model would be 0.48-0.51 inches thinner, and the 16-inch model 0.53-0.56 inches thinner. In keeping with the trend, both MacBook Pros could come with thinner bezels. However, Miani warns not to expect rounded display corners.

Miani explains the devices may come with a HDMI port, SD card slot, and a Thunderbolt 4 port on the right-hand side of the MacBook Pros. Moving to the other side of the devices, Miani shows there might be two further Thunderbolt 4 ports, as well a headphone jack.

One other big feature that Miani expects is a redesigned MagSafe port on the left-hand side. He explains that the new port will use three small magnets, but will still utilize USB-C. It's no surprise this feature could be making a comeback after Apple added MagSafe to the iPhone 12 line-up.

Miani explains there might be a new keyboard, more similar to the one with the 2021 iMac. Apple may also remove the Touch Bar, instead replacing it with function keys and the 2021 iMac's Touch ID button.

Both devices are expected to come with a 1080p webcam and three microphones. We may also see upgraded speakers that support both Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio, to use with the new lossless Apple Music feature.

Looking at the specs of the new MacBook Pros, Miani expects a battery life of 23 hours on the 14-inch model, and between 25 and 30 hours on the 16-inch. Both devices should come with a new M1X chip, which has a 10 core CPU and either a 16 or 32 GPU.

Miani assumes Apple will continue using the current pricing of $1799 for the 14-inch model and $2399 for the 16-inch model.

MacBooks Could Take a Big Step Forward In 2021

If Miani's rumors are correct, Apple could take a big step forward with the MacBooks in 2021. Despite introducing MacBooks with the new M1 chip in 2020, fans have been waiting for a redesign of the devices for a while now.

Improving both the design and Apple Silicon chip, the 2021 MacBook Pros could be a perfect new device.
