YouTube dominated the online music video scene for the longest time. However, Apple is now coming for a slice of the pie with the launch of Apple Music TV.

The new channel will stream constantly. It will feature music videos and exclusive original content. Making it a rival to MTV as well as YouTube.

What Is Apple Music TV?

Apple Music TV is a new and free service available to those in the US. It is available via the Apple Music app and the Apple TV app.

It will broadcast a constant, 24-hour livestream of music videos. The content will be curated and there will also be exclusive video premieres every Friday.

These exclusives begin on November 23, with 777 by Joji and Gorgeous by SAINt JHN.

According to an Apple press release, Apple Music TV will also feature "special curated music video blocks, and live shows and events as well as chart countdowns and guests".

For example, on November 22 there will be a special Bruce Springsteen segment (in advance of his new album releasing the day after) that will feature his best music videos and a new interview conducted by Zane Lowe.

If you've ever used Apple Music, you might have seen the original content that has been hosted there for many years. Some of this will now also be shown on Apple Music TV.

Should You Use Apple Music?

Apple has long been a player in the music scene and it's clear that the announcement of Apple Music TV is the tech company putting another stake down.

However, rival platforms like Spotify continue to dominate. Is the announcement of Apple Music TV enough to draw new users in?
