A message has appeared on Apple Music that hints at an upcoming announcement. If recent rumors are true, it's likely that the arrival of lossless streaming to the platform isn't far off.

What Is Being Teased on Apple Music?

As first spotted by MacRumors, a teaser message has appeared on the Browse tab of Apple Music.

"Get ready," the message reads. "Music is about to change forever." This sits beneath a "Coming soon" header.

Beneath this is an animation that shows the Apple Music logo spinning between a black and white variant.

It's rumored that Apple Music is due to get a high-fidelity streaming tier. This would bring Apple Music in line with competitors like Tidal and Amazon Music, which offer lossless music streaming.

There's also a suggestion that this tier would offer spatial audio to be supported on the third-generation AirPods.

Considering the Apple Music teaser animation shows the logo spinning to fill the screen, it's likely that all these rumors are true.

However, we'll have to wait and see. Apple hasn't given any further information as to when this announcement is due, though a recent Apple Music leak suggests that May 18 could be the day that we find out more.
