Apple Fitness+ has a feature called Collections that will help you accomplish your fitness goals and live a healthier life one workout at a time. Whether you want to strengthen your core, run your first 5k, or sleep better, this feature will keep you on track with your Apple Fitness+ subscription.

Here’s how you can start using Collections in Apple Fitness+.

What Are the Apple Fitness+ Collections

Apple Fitness Plus Collections on iPad

Apple added the Collections feature to Apple Fitness+ as a curated list of workouts and meditation sessions. The goal of using these collections of workouts is to help Apple Fitness+ users to make mindful choices that’ll help them achieve their goals and keep them motivated.

Collections are perfect for people who are just starting out with Apple Fitness+ or the fitness world as a whole. The suggested plans in collections are perfect for staying focused on what you want to do and ensuring your workouts will help you get there.

What You Need to Use Collections on Apple Fitness+

The best part about the Collections feature is that you don’t need any different equipment to what you’re probably already using. This feature is included in the regular Apple Fitness+ subscription. To use Collections, you’ll just need your Apple Watch and your iPhone or iPad, like a regular workout.

Where to Find Collections on Apple Fitness+

When you first open the Fitness app, you might not see any collections right away, but they’re easy to find. Here’s how:

  1. Open the Fitness app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. If you’re on an iPhone, make sure to tap the Fitness+ tab at the bottom of your screen.
  3. Scroll down until you see the Collections section. It should be above the More of What You Do section.

And that’s it. You can swipe to the left to see all the collections available or tap Show All to see a list of the collections available.

What Types of Collections Are in Apple Fitness+?

Apple Fitness+ has six collections to choose from. Even though some collections may share the same types of meditation or workouts, they’re all designed to help you achieve a different goal.

1. Perfect Your Yoga Balance Poses

If you just started doing yoga, or want to take it to the next level, this collection is for you. There are eight classes to help you master yoga standing poses, and you’ll even get to practice your arm balance, which not everyone can do straight away.

You’ll start with a 10-minute session, but the more you progress, the longer the workouts will be. Don’t worry, though; you can repeat each workout as many times as you want and move on whenever you’re ready.

2. 30-Day Core Challenge

We all want a strong core. Not only does it look good, but it also feels good. And this collection is meant to help you achieve that goal with a 30-day challenge. You get a list of 30 different workout routines; a different one to try every day. Don’t worry, though, most of them are only five minutes long, and the longer ones will only take you 10 minutes, so you won’t feel burned out the first week you try this.

3. Run Your First 5K

This collection is for you if you want to finish a 5K run without breaking a sweat. You’ll get a total of nine different workout sessions, each increasing in time and difficulty, to help you run better. Keep in mind that you’ll need a treadmill to do this collection.

4. Strengthen and Stretch Your Back and Hips

This collection is all about making your torso stronger and more flexible. You’ll have what Apple Fitness+ calls a trio, which refers to three workout sessions. Each trio will help you build your strength, work your core, or do yoga. Apple recommends that you do any trio at least twice a week, and that you do the whole trio in one day.

5. Improve Your Posture With Pilates

If you want to improve your posture, this collection will help you achieve your goal. Even though it’s the shortest Collection, with only three 10-minute workouts, you’ll still get the most out of it if you try to do the exercises at least every other day, either on their own or mixed with other workouts.

6. Wind Down for a Better Bedtime

This collection offers something we all probably need. You’ll get a mix of what Apple calls mindful cooldowns and meditation workouts that will help you wind down and get better sleep for the next two weeks. Each session takes only five minutes, and it’s recommended that you do them right before you go to bed.

Time to Achieve Your Goals

Now there’s no excuse not to achieve your fitness goals. The Apple Fitness+ Collections feature gives you everything you need to get you started and keep yourself motivated while you make progress. Remember that you can use as many collections as you want and repeat them whenever you feel like it. And if you’re still struggling to stay motivated, you can even try an online fitness community.
