iPhone fans around the world have been patiently waiting for the day when Apple would announce the iPhone 12. That day has finally arrived, and the company actually announced two different iPhone 12 models (and two iPhone 12 Pro models).

Whether you're looking for a cheaper, smaller iPhone model or a larger iPhone 12, Apple has a new device that'll work for you.

iPhone 12 Features and Specs

Apple kicked off the iPhone portion of its big event with the iPhone 12. The phone looks to build upon the features offered by the iPhone 11, but it makes some pretty substantial changes.

What will likely end up being the most noticeable change to the iPhone comes from the inclusion of 5G. Apple had Verizon on stage to announce a 5G partnership that'll bring a faster connection to more users around the United States.

The chip is another big change, as Apple has announced the A14 Bionic chip, which promises massive improvements over the previous generation.

Apple also revealed a new Advanced dual‑camera system, which features an Ultra Wide and Wide lens for different applications. The Ultra Wide lens features a ƒ/2.4 aperture and 120° field of view and the Wide lens comes with a ƒ/1.6 aperture.

The iPhone 12 features a 6.1-inch display with a 2532 x 1170 resolution with a pixel density of 460 PPI. Apple is calling its new screen a Super Retina XDR display. Apple can call it whatever it wants, but the fact is, it looks like an absolutely gorgeous screen.

Quite possibly the most exciting thing Apple announced for the new iPhone devices is the MagSafe accessories. These blend wireless charging with magnets to create an easier charging experience. There are also cases and wallets that take advantage of the MagSafe technology, which seems rather cool.

iPhone 12 Mini Features and Specs

The iPhone 12 Mini is actually very similar to the full-sized iPhone 12. In fact, the only real difference comes to the screen, which is significantly smaller. It features a 5.4 Super Retina XDR display. The resolution is 2340 x 1080 resolution and the pixel density is a bit higher at 476 PPI.

Everything else is unchanged. It has the same dual-camera setup, A14 chip, and everything else you get with the bigger phone. It's just a smaller, more affordable device.

iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini Price and Availability

Apple announced a quick turnaround for the iPhone 12. The company said that it'll be available for preorder starting on October 16. From there, it'll ship the phone on October 23, which is just 10 days after the initial announcement. It'll start at $799 before any trade-ins.

As for the iPhone 12 Mini, you'll have to wait a little longer to get your hands on one of those. Apple announced that it'll be available for preorder starting November 6, with a ship date of November 13. The smaller iPhone 12 will start at $699 before any trade-ins.

Both phones are available in five different colors, so you should be able to find one that works for your sense of style. There's Black, White, (PRODUCT)RED, Green, and Blue available for both models.
