I was wondering which antivirus would be better for a PC with Windows 7 x86 or x64 installed. I mean both in terms of virus protection and Windows performance. I don't want an antivirus that really slows down my computer even if it works well, but the same can be said for AV packages that work perfectly but never find a virus.

So what are your suggestions about this? Thanks in advance!

I used to use MacAfee but now i'm a big fan of Kaspersky. It does a better job and don't take up a lot of space and does not slow my computers down.

There are a number of packages that will fit the bill. I personally use Avira, but Avast, MSE, and others all do similar jobs. Combine it with a firewall and some good common sense and you should be fine :)

Go for Avast Antivirus. They have free and paid versions. They only differ in the number of features supported and hence their working. But all of them have same virus definitions. So you can wisely choose which suits your needs. It's also lightweight, fast and has sleek interface.
