Why does Windows XP reboot and only let me enter in Safe Mode although the activation was completed?

So I used an ultimate boot disk to wipe my laptop and its viruses. I re-installed Windows XP and activated it.

Now, each time I start, it is says I have to activate it now, logs in, says activation already completed and reboots back to where I choose the profile to log in. I can only enter the laptop in Safe Mode, no networking. I really have no clue what is going on. Help please!

    type msconfig in run
then click the boot tab from there disable the safe mode option
and see if it works in the next boot

    1. Click Start, Go to run and Type msconfig and launch it
    2. in boot options if the /SAFEBOOT box has been checked uncheck it then click ok

perhaps some servies, process are to be blamed, try to Clean Boot

You could select Safe Mode with Networking, and try to confirm activation.
