I am using Windows XP SP3. When I shut down my PC it shows that Windows Explorer will end now. If I click on it, it will take time to shut down. The error happens each time.

Hi
Go to msconfig, try CTRL-ALT-DEL and "End Task" on everything that is running except Explorer and Systray. If this resolves the problem then there is a program running in the background that is causing the problem. A simple process of elimination should determine what program is causing the errors
Method 1:
Step 1:
I would suggest you to check in safe mode, follow the steps
mentioned below.
a. Restart
the computer and keep tapping F8 till you reach the boot menu.
b. Select
Safe mode and press Enter.
If this does not occur in safe mode then, I would suggest you to
do a clean boot and check.
Step 2:
To perform a clean boot follow steps mentioned in the link given
below.
