Why won’t Windows 7 SP1 install when other updates install fine?

Daniel Joshua September 19, 2012

Windows 7 SP 1 update fails during installation when it downloaded fine. Moreover all the other OS updates are installed successfully, yet this sole update is not installing.

I did try to cleanup the .NET framework using the article on this site, not sure if that affects anything.

Please help me :) Thanks!

I tried the first link and checked 'The report can be found at %windir%\logs\cbs\checksur.log'.

I had three manifest files corrupt I presume. The following is a part from my checksur.log file

      Found 3 errors
CSI Manifest All Zeros Total count: 3

I ran the System File Checker and got no integrity violations.
Should I really go for the Update Readiness Tool, it says its compatible with Windows 7 SP1, which I can't Install now

Do you have any pre-release versions of SP1 installed, Uninstall them before installing the final release version of SP1. Also check if your computer is clean.

Thanks for the link Basu. I found that I don't have the Windows Update file KB2534366. I think that might cause the problem.

Please help me where I can find it. Moreover I searched it in my list of available update but no KB2534366 was found
