Why won’t the Windows 8 Store work?

I am running Windows 8 Media Center. After a month or so, my Windows 8 App Store suddenly stopped working. As soon as I click on store or any store app, the loading logo shifts to the top left corner and nothing happens. How do I make it run again?

None of my window 8 tiles will open, even the store app. I contacted window support and they wanted me to purchase their $99 premium support because the free support could not cover what needed to be done. Ridiculous! Microsoft needs to fix this issue.

Hi, I am having the same problem, none of my apps including the store just stopped opening. I have tried everything. WSReset.exe isn't recognized; I can't do a system restore - which I did try for over an hour only to get the message that it couldn't be completed! If it comes to doing that again I will have to totally disable my Anti-Virus and Firewall to see if that helps. But, how do I stop Bit Defender from coming on by itself, same goes for Defender? I really do not want to do a system refresh or restore. I've sen a few ideas here from you guys which I haven't tried and I'll be sure to mention which one worked.

I would look to Windows Event Logs (System and Application) to find out what's going on there. There must be some error messages related to it.

Download and run this fix from Microsoft: http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/2/4/F24D0C03-4181-4E5B-A23B-5C3A6B5974E3/apps.diagcab
Please let us know how you get on with it.

can you use windows restore point to revert back just before the problem.

perhaps your firewall is doing this, terminate it and check Windows 8 store.

It seems the activation period of Windows Media Centre which is for 90 days is completed. You should buy a licence to renew it. That will get you store and other metro apps working again.
