I am wondering why my mouse pointer doesn’t point directly on the object (layer) in Photoshop CS4 on my Mac. In this case, I will always have to move the pointer pixels above the layer to select and drag it. It’s even worse when I have to do precise selection using Polygonal Lasso Tool as I can’t point directly on the edge of object.
I have never experienced this before when using Windows PC. However, the problem maybe fixed by restarting Photoshop, but that’s annoying. Any idea, please?
Still no fix yet!
You need to either adjust the mouse acceleration or disable it completely. It's because of this, the cursor is inaccurate in Photoshop and games -

Try changing this setting and restarting photoshop
Photoshop > Preferences > Performance… > GPU Settings > Enable OpenGL Drawing
Thanks James, but I just check my preference and OpenGL Drawing was already enabled. You know it's funny, as the problem won't always happen. Sometime it's ok. I can do the selection precisely. But sometimes when we start Photoshop and do the selection, the pointer (cursor) goes wrong again and I have to move it up to really select the object. This is even harder when I need to drag small objects. Please click this link https://dl.dropbox.com/u/50194804/Wrong%20Pointer.jpg to have a clear picture of my problem. ( based on the picture, if I want to select the line, I have to move the point at that position.)
