Why does nothing happen when I close the lid of my laptop?

Reý Aetar December 29, 2012

Everything was working fine until now I noticed that the display doesn’t turn off when I close the lid. My computer should hibernate as soon as I close the lid.

The monitor also doesn’t turn off when the lid is closed. What could be the problem??

It hibernates it or puts it to sleep. It won't do anything. It just slowly uses your battery though so keep it charging.

Check the left hand side of the window when you click the battery icon in the bottom left, "More Power Options"

You can also right click the battery icon at the taskbar to reach the control panel.
