Why does my USB 3.0 pendrive work on USB 2.0 ports but not the USB 3.0 port?

I recently bought a SanDisk Extreme 16GB 3.0 Pen drive.  I have a ASUS K53SM-SX010D with 2 USB 2.0 ports and 1 USB 3.0 port.  Every port is working I have checked with a USB Mouse, keyboard and USB 2.0 pen drive.

Now with my new pen drive, it works fine on USB 2.0 ports with speeds that it’s supposed to give but when I plug it into the 3.0 port I can see the LED glow on the drive but it just doesn’t show in the computer.  No pop-ups, no trace in My computer or device manager, anywhere. It’s like nothing is plugged in.

I have installed the latest USB 3.0 drivers but it’s of no help.
Any solutions?

I'm so happy to know that your USB 3.0 flash drive is working now properly.

perhaps it is a fake one?

go to device manager locate Universal Serial Bus Controllers then expand right click related USB 3 driver and choose uninstall (do not delete) then reboot. Windows will reinstall the drivers.

      Thanks man.
      I'll keep this bookmarked.
For now, somehow the drive is working with the 3.0 port as well.
