Why does my Samsung GT S3850 phone hang at the boot logo? I can’t get it to move past that point.

This device use a Samsung Proprietary Operating System. Install Samsung Kies and plug the device via USB and see if it senses the device, then you can do a firmware restore. You can also do firmware updates via Kies. Also I guess you can do a factory reset probably (but you will loose all data). More details at http://www.samsung.com/ae/consumer/mobile-phones/mobile-phones/mobile-phone-others/GT-S3850CWAXSG-support?subsubtype=slider . You can also register and take help from Samsung's Online Service Center at http://www.samsung.com/in/support/main/supportMain.do .

If Samsung Kies fails, I guess you have no other option but to take it to the nearest Samsung service centers for a full OS reload. They will charge you for that, as I presume that your device is already out of warranty. Use their service center locater to find the nearest service center to you. http://www.samsung.com/in/support/location/supportServiceLocation.do?page=SERVICE.LOCATION

I just hope you did not try to flash this device to a custom ROM of android. :P

Rajaa da it is not an android phone. It is named Samsung Corby II. MUO has wrongly tagged it as an android. Chk it here http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_s3850_corby_ii-3765.php
I remember it very well as once I had gifted the same phone to my sis. And it had the same problem as mentioned in the question out of box. It just needed a hard format and reinstalling the software. Well I didn't do anything to it. I did what a typical bengali does. Went to the shop and dokandar k jhaar and then asked for immediate exchange. Well I came home with a nokia xpress music 5230 (sorry I don't remeber the exact no.)
