Why does Google Chrome always crash when I click on a link?

Rita June 21, 2013

The problem comes up recently. I cannot select any text or click any button on the webpage when it crashes. I have to close the browser and restart. It is annoying as the problem would show up for 4 or 5 times every day. Do you know how to resolve it?

Try removing or disabling the extensions. It has helped some forum users.

Also, when uninstalling chrome, check if it asks to delete user data and delete it and install it as a fresh.

if it is hardware problem then uninstall:reinstall chrome will not fix the problem, so this can be indication that it is not software problem. Sometime malware are hidden reinfect chrome if they are not cleaned completely.

Thank you ha14. I have not tried that. I add a lot of websites to the favorites and the websites contain my registration information. It would log in automatically when I open the links. I am wondering whether the websites I collect and the registration information would be preserved if I uninstall chrome.
