Why can’t I download the new MakeUseOf iPhone guide?

AJ Gill May 15, 2013

I don’t seem to be able to download the new iPhone 6 guides (3) like I can your other MUO. Is it a glitch or deliberate change? Thanks for your reply in advance!

The new iPhone guides were made to read on the web, so they're not available in downloadable PDF form (it's a long story).

Our future guides will be downloadable.

Of course, it's just a web page, so you can always print to PDF and get a local file, as you can with any web page:

They have been published in HTML format in a webpages and not available as an epub or pdf download.

That's a bummer if true. All the MUO guides are fantastic for instant reference but lose much of their usefulness if you have to be connected to the internet to use them Hope you are wrong :-)

Unfortunately, it is true. If you go to the MUO guide page, you will notice all the other guides have a ePub and a PDF format except for the iOS5 and iOS6 guides. However, what you can do is install the free DoPDF 7.3, open the iOS guide in your browser and print it to DoPDF to create a PDF format file for yourself, which you can read via any PDF reader. I think that should serve your purpose. The link to DoPDF is http://www.dopdf.com/ . I hope you have a Windows PC to do the conversion, otherwise you can use someone's else PC, do the conversion and then copy the PDF files to your iPhone. Cheers!!! :)

Google Chrome has an integrated PDF printer, no need to download extra software.
