Why am I missing the file tab in Office 2007?

jonathan railite December 16, 2012

I just bought a new laptop with Windows 8.

I installed my Office 2007 Home and Student version on this laptop without uninstalling the pre-installed Office 2010 version. I haven’t even started the Office 2010 version.

When I started to use my Word 2007 I noticed that the File Tab is missing. The same story for Excel 2007 and PowerPoint 2007. The ribbon is there.

Can someone help me as to restore the File Tab in Word 2007, Excel 2007 and PowerPoint 2007?

I already searched the internet with no solution to be found.

The orb on the left corner is the 'File' tab menu.

Most of the functions you got under the 'file' menu tab were either 1) relocated elsewhere to other places on the ribbon, or 2) are available at the 'BRB - Big round button' at the top left. For example: New, Open, Save, Save As, Print, Prepare, Send, Publish, and Close. It takes some time to get used to, but all the functionality is still there.
