I've found two decent apps that can find local news sources based upon your location.

The first is Local News, Weather, and More.
    Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lsn.localnews&hl=en
It finds local TV news sources that they have a deal struck with and gives you a nice feed of all their articles, videos, weather feed, sports, etc. Useful if you want to follow local news channels.

The second is 10 Miles News-Local Newspapers
    Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tenmilesnews.client.android&hl=en
As you may be able to guess from the name, it finds the RSS feeds of newspapers within 10 miles of your location. Unlike the other app, which aggregated all the articles within the app in an easily readable format, this one will basically open the Newspaper's website inside the app, which can be annoying and slow.

I personally prefered the first app because of its interface and quickness, not to mention that it's ads were slightly less intrusive. Both are free apps. Both use older Android 2.3 Gingerbread styling, which is unfortunate and pretty ugly if you're used to 4.0+ design style, but they get the job done.
