What’s the best to-do app for Android?

David Moreira May 21, 2013

I am constantly forgetting things and I need an android app that fits my needs.

I don’t think I’m asking for much, but here it goes:

A simple app that lets me add tasks that I have to do, with no deadline, but that constantly asks me if I’ve done them already.

An example:

Task: Go to the supermarket.

How the app should behave: Every 2, 3, or 4 hours some notification should ask me something like: Have you done this already? If so, mark it as done.

Get the point? Just to constantly remind me of these little things.

Thanks in advance.

Astrid is best app, It will do what you are looking for and will sync to google tasks as well.

I would suggest either Astrid or Google Tasks. I use a combination of the two depending upon what I need exactly.

Any.DO does almost everything you are asking except regularly repeating reminders. But you can set reminders and then snooze them to achieve your goal.

I recently started using Wunderlist with a home screen widget that keeps my to-do list in front of me any time I unlock the screen.

GTasks: To Do List & Task List app has a reminder function as stated in its app description -

.... 9. repeat reminder enable, set reminder one-time/daily/weekly/monthly... and so on

Since I'm fairly Google-centric in my web habits, I prefer to use Tasks, which syncs beautifully with Google Tasks. For me, I just want something that's simple and easy to use, and Tasks offers just that. There's a free, ad supported option, as well as a paid version without the ads. In my view the $1 is well worth it.

    Take a look at Astrid.

Wunderlist - this app has been getting a lot of press, as of late.

There are some reminder apps as opposed to to-do apps on the play store that might work well for your situation.

Use Microsoft OneNote for Android (read the description here and then decide to download). Simple to use. : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.office.onenote&hl=en

If you need a bit more advanced then I would highly recommend EverNote. It is one of the leading apps on Android and other platforms. : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.evernote&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5ldmVybm90ZSJd
