What’s the best third-party PDF reader?

James Lewis May 18, 2012

Where can I find a third-party PDF reader plugin for Chrome? I am bored of using the default one and I uninstalled Adobe Reader.

I like Nitro the best of the ones I've used. Sounds like I'll have to give PDF-XChange viewer a try, though.

Anyone still saying Foxit hasn't used PDF-XChange Viewer extensively. It rivals Acrobat with features if you use it for editing, creating, pulling data out of pdf schematics or blueprints. If all you do is open documents for viewing any program will work for you.

It's tough to say what you're looking for, since you just say you're bored

Foxit is one people always recommend: http://www.foxitsoftware.com/Secure_PDF_Reader/

If you're looking for something light, Sumatra is definitely the lightest PDF reader I've ever used: http://blog.kowalczyk.info/software/sumatrapdf/free-pdf-reader.html
