For broadcast to work it says the persons receiving the message should have the sender’s number in their phone address book but not so for group messaging, though both are multi-person messaging. What is the difference?

The difference between a broadcasted message to multiple people and a group chat message is that in the group chat everyone sees all messages sent within the group. If someone replies to a broadcasted message on the other hand, only you as the original broadcaster will receive that reply.

I understand.
Appending subquestion : Is there any other difference?
Are the number of participants equal for both?
Is delivery confirmation received for both or one? which one?
It is noticed that text , audio , pictures , video and location can be sent in both multi-messaging formats.
But for broadcast messaging there is pre-requisite that for person to receive broadcast message he must add admin in phone address book. So what difference can this pre-requisite indicate between broadcast and group messaging?
