Which are the salient and subtle differences between ‘Liking’ and ‘Subscribing’ to a Facebook page? Is it possible to subscribe without Liking a Facebook page?
If you like the page means the page value will increase but if you subscribe the page means all the posts which are posted in the page will be presented on your timeline...
Finally an answer that makes sense. Thank you!
yes tina this answer made me feel "Eureka!"
Subscribe works for profile pages of person. Like works for facebook pages.
Please note in the question and it's description that query is not for fb user profiles but fb pages
subscribe is just like liking but without you liking the page, you get notifications of all the posts and updates but the page is not shown on your profile likes.
heyy follow this link
if yo usubscribe, the notifications appear but not when you like...i guess!
Like = share your massage to everybody. Subscribing = email from fb send to you.
I think subscribe is where you just want to keep uptodate with page updates but dont necessarily endore or like the product (despite having some interest)..not all pages allow it, I think.
The difference between liking and subscribing is that when you like something, you tell the author whatever he has posted is good. By subscribing to someone, you say to that person that you like whatever he posts and want to follow whatever he posts in the future as well.
But how to subscribe a fb "page" ( not user profile ) without liking it?
Well, for subscribing something, the author must have chosen the subscribe option while making the page. If that is on, you'll see a subscribe button just below the Cover photo. If you don't, then you can't subscribe to it. If you do, just press that button and you'll subscribe to it. Many authors don't use subscribe option so it's more likely to be available with user profiles than pages. If you don't want to like a page and still get daily updates from it, try pressing the Settings button (also present just under the cover) and choose "Add to Interest List..." option. I haven't tried it though...
Like means ( you like it , him , her , page , article , etc...)
Subscribe ( to one whom you probably sent a add friend request , they may be didn't check it yet, didn't approve, hence you will get updates ( if the person you subscribed allowed it in his privacy settings )
i think they are the same
How to subscribe to a facebook page without 'liking' it
If the person has allowed subscribers, then you can click on "Subscribe" which is on the right side (below the timeline cover) of the his/her's facebook page.
You can suscribe without liking a page but it will have the same result...
Liking is referring to that you "like" a specific post. When you say Subscribing, you are like signing up for that specific brand/person to be informed of his/her facebook updates. Usually you can see updates (status, photo uploads, etc) in your newsfeed
When you like a page, the posts made by that page will appear in your News Feed. When you suscribe, you will receive notifications about the posts of the page AND appear in your News Feed.
Appending a subquestion : how to subscribing without liking a fb page?
In suscribing you receive updates to the page. When you like all you do is increase the number of likes by one.
Well, when you Like something, you really "like" it ;) And you are subscribed automatically to his/her's updates. It gets shown on your Likes page.
You can of course subscribe to one's updates, if he/she has allowed subscribers. You don't have to Add as a friend/like someone to subscribe. This one gets shown on your timeline that you have subscribed to xx. For more, check out: https://www.facebook.com/help/382751108453953/
When you subscribe for a page, that means whatever posts are made to that page, will be notified to your Facebook page. It can be only done for a facebook page. "Like" can be for any individual posts that are made to facebook page by friends and non friends.
if you like something, you say I like this and the author gets a warm fuzzy feeling and it promotes that article on your facebook page. Subscribe and you are informed of all new posts by the person you subscribed to
