I have 64-it Windows Vista. I have a number of old Indeo codec video files that I cannot play. Does anyone know of a player or converter that will work?

search for, download & install klite mega codec pack.
if you can't play something after that, not much else you can do.

I recommend to convert the video to some other format and see if it helps.
See MakeUseOf article on free video converters. Once you have converted the videos to one of the popular formats (wmv, avi, mpeg etc etc.) you may easily open them using VLC.
I have also found a similar forum entry (link below) you might want to check that out as well.

I second trying the file in VLC. You could also try WinFF (available for Windows Vista, not just Linux) to convert the file without loss of quality.
id check out VideoLAN player
