Why can’t I upload songs to YouTube?

Dominic Pasqualini August 8, 2011

I am brand new to YouTube, never have uploaded anything before. I was a DJ in the late 90’s and have been remastering my vinyl collection and thought it would be cool to upload a song, so I could post it on my Facebook page. Is this even possible?

I’m using my Mac to try an upload to YouTube and I’m changing the file format with no luck at all. Is there anything I can do? I’m not trying to make money at this point, just wanted my friends on Facebook to hear some of the old jams!!

create your account here : http://soundcloud.com/
this site will allow u to share audio on facebook..friends can download it..once you share it....I will recommend creating a facebook page of ur tracks..if u think u want to share it with everyone and only your friends...
you can use http://www.4shared.com also ..it also plays the audio directly in on facebook...there are multiple choices on fb to share audios to feeds...
I am sure about this two..because..one of my frnd is a dj and does the same...

another option is...mix your tracks with a video..it can be a black frame..then upload it on youtube...

YouTube is for videos, not songs. If you want to put one of your songs on YouTube, use video editing software to include the song in a video. Then you can upload that video to YouTube. I'm not a Mac user so I dont know what kind of video editing software it comes with but I'm sure someone else can help you find one... *cough* Google *cough*

Do you get an error message? If so, what is it? Have you tried using the Basic Uploader?
