I have a 160GB classic iPod that is Mac-formatted. My Mac Mini is now fried and I can’t get to to my iTunes library on it. I want to transfer the whole library on the iPod, including playlists to a Windows 7 PC. Can this be done?
I just did this to with the HFSExplorer and it worked as well...now I need to reformat my mac formatted ipod to pc, but can do so now knowing I have just saved/transfered on my PC all my media files....Then I need to download again to ipod once formatted to PC ipod...gotta love technology.
The HFSExplorer got all of my 2700 songs off of my ipod in under an 1 and 1/2!!! I'm so happy! Been wanting this for years!!!
please let us know whether the above explanation helped you to retrieve or back up your iTunes library!
Windows uses FAT32 for their drive recognition software, but Apple dosn't.
You will need
Then restore iPod to factory settings using iTunes, this time formatting it for Windows, and copy those files back onto the iPod
HFSExplorer. It allows you to see the contents of your iPod.
