I have a Transcend SATA StoreJet 2.5. When I connect it to my Dell laptop, it beeps and the laptop does not detect it. How can I find out the reason and get it working again as before?

Try connecting the drive to another laptop/PC if you have access to one.

There are essentially three possibilities:
Faulty drive/cable
Not enough power
Driver problem on your laptop
You mention a beep. Is it the drive or the laptop that beeps? Do you get any error messages? If the drive has lights, are they working as usual or is something odd about them?
