Can any Windows 7 laptop be tethered? If yes, which is the easiest way to tether a Windows 7 laptop (Presario CQ42). Thanks!

          It connected but there is no internet access or web surfing

          looks like, problem is in tablet as you can share it, and connect to network as well. were you able to use it with any wifi before ?
          you should ask someone who successfully does it.
          or  it is possible that it is not compatible with tablet.
          try to reset your tablet settings to default.
          as it connects to network, then possibly some internal setting is missing.
          contact support of hcl.

          I could connect internet from laptop to tablet using Connectify
          Actually I had chosen wrong option of Internet Source
