I am having problems with streaming music/video, such as from YouTube. It always stops (buffers). How can I fix this?

Open you internet Properties window, then in General under Browsing History click on Settings, this will open Temporary Internet Files and History Settings, change disk space to use to higher value.

Also you may ask for test your antimalware to not scan photo and image.

also uninstal Adobe flash player and shockwave reboot and reinstal. Check also if you have other plug-ins that interfer with youtube.

Hello, for one, what browser are you using?  To improve your buffering, in this case when receiving video, it is required that your browser has the proper amount of free space needed to load the video temporarily.  It is as easy as opening your browser and set it so that it cleans the cache everytime you close it, that way when you start your browser the next time, you have enough space available to start new.  You can also clean your cache manually, before streaming video/audio.

If after doing this you still suffer from slow buffering or choppy playback, it can mostly be related to the hardware performance of your computer.  How much free space is there in your harddrive?  How much RAM is available?  What is the pagefile in use?

If your harddrive is almost full, it will start causing problems everywhere.  If you do not have enough RAM, it will also cause problems.  For example, if you have less than 10% of free space you can not do any restore points.  If your RAM is not enough, your pagefile will run out and your system will start using your harddrive as virtual memory (pagefile).  A harddrive, unless it is an SSD, will never be as fast as physical memory(RAM).

To improve your buffering, you could try disabling the use of hardware acceleration.  Hardware
acceleration, specially if your graphics card is not the greatest, can cause slow
streaming video problems. This mostly happens because when this option is enabled, if forces video players to use one setting. If you disable this option, the
individual player can set to play the files with the best compatibility with the player.

In the case of youtube, you can disable hardware acceleration, by doing the following:

    -- navigate to youtube
-- select a video to play
-- right click on background of video
    -- select settings
    -- uncheck hardware acceleration
    -- any difference?

Also, you could try the following:

    -- navigate to youtube
-- select a video to play
-- right click on background of video
    -- select ,i>global settings
    -- click on advanced tab
-- under Browsing Data and Settings, click on Delete All
    -- click on ok
    -- click on Storage
-- click on Local Storage Settings by Site.
-- delete any settings for youtube
    -- click on close
    -- restart your browser
-- navigate to youtube and try again

Mostly, this has a lot to do with your internet speed.  Then only thing you can do about it, is to try and keep your system optimized or upgrade your internet package.  Another thing you could try, is to visit the site in off peak hours.

I have answer a question similar to this, you can view it here.

As Jay stated, it depends greatly on your internet speed & bandwidth. I use Video Accelerator which works very well at reducing buffer pauses.

It depends upon your internet speed.

For speedy buffering, you should select 240p the lowest quality n youtube.

If you want to watch in high quality, you will have to let it buffer, click pause and wait till slowly complete the buffering.
after that you can watch it. (download option is also there)

and also keep your flash player plugin updated to avoid other problems.
