I want to be able to send a clickable URL to a friend. What’s the best way to do this?

Hello, easiest way in most email software, either online or on a client is by doing the following:

-- copy the link you want to send
    -- open your email
-- click on create or new email
-- add the usual info such as email address, subject, etc.
-- click on hyperlink image or button
-- if there is already this in the box:  http:// make sure to delete it
-- paste the link you copied before in hyperlink box that opened
    -- click on ok
    -- send email when finished.

The hyperlink icon looks like a globe with a chain in front.  Or only a chain.  This is an example for hyperlink when using gmail:

    [Broken Link Removed]

    example for windows live/hotmail:

    [Broken Link Removed]

    example for outlook:
    [Broken Link Removed]

depends on what does your friend have at the receiving end.
mail: firefox: click on any link and click send link (you need to set an email client like outloook )

phone: send link using pc to sms option.

    facebook: use rockmelt browser.
use keyboard shortcuts to message a friend.

short urls : this can be used when you have limted characters like twitter and sms.
bookmarklets and addons can be useful.

    Hi Sandra,

I'm not sure if I understand your question, properly. If you wish to make a long URL shorter, you can use a service such as Goo.gl, Bitly or Tiny URL
