Can I safely use to jailbreak my iPod Touch?

I want to jailbreak my iPod Touch second generation, running iOS 4.0.

I was wondering whether my device is supported by And if I use this method, would it reset my data making me have to sync everything over. Is this method untethered, and does this method leave all normal functionality on my device working? Also what are some good secure cydia repositories?

Yes, the iPod Touch with iOS4 is compatible with Jailbreakme. You can check with to keep up to date with what can be jailbroken with what tools.

For secure repositories, the default repos in Cydia are probably the best bet for keeping it safe.
