Is it safe to disable UAC? I have McAfee!

Is it safe to disable UAC? I have McAfee! When it is enabled, it brings up too many “allow” prompts.

    It totally depends on your personal preferences and how aware you are about the kind of damage that malware can do your files. If you know what you are doing on the Internet and whether it's safe, you can safely disable UAC. From personal experience, I haven't used UAC ever (right from the Vista days).

    In simple terms UAC (User Account Control) prevents a virus or malicious program to do a damage to your computer. You can still get infected even with UAC running but the damage in that case would be limited to your person files not the core files of the Windows. If you have an up-to-date version of the McAfee running I would say it's fairly safe to disable it.
