Why has my right-click context menu turned black?

M AHMED January 17, 2011

Recently I installed a black theme and the problem is that whenever I right click or open drop down menus in programs or browsers, the background of the menu is black and the text is also black. On hover the text changes to white, but the background remains black. I know there is an option in the advance personalization, but I can’t find. I want to have the black background with white text color.

    If running xp do this:

right click desktop>>properties>>appearance>>advance>>item>>menu>>pick color for letter or font.

    If running windows 7:

right click desktop>>Personalize>>click window color>>advanced appearance settings>>Item>>scroll down to menu>>
change text color or background>>ok>>save settings.

Note: You probably will have to save your theme too. Hope it helps.

    Try this

Right click your desktop background and from the menu, select properties.

From there, select the "appearance"in the display properties.

Click on "Effect" button under "appearance" tab

From the option "Use the following transition effect for menus and tooltips"

If there displayed "Scroll Effect", switch it to "Fade Effect" instead.
If there displayed "Fade Effect", switch it to "Scroll Effect".

Click "apply" to confirm your option.
