      It works perfectly for me. You can choose the image you want to remove.  It also supports text watermark now.

    Manually Erasing
    Convert the PDF to image files. Open the images in a free image editing program, such as Gimp. Select the watermarks using the Magic Wand or Touchup tool, then delete them. Convert the image files back to PDF.

    PDF Conversion
    Convert the PDF to Microsoft Word (DOC) format using an online file conversion program. Open the Word file and delete the watermark, which should appear as an image or text overlapping the main text of the document. Convert the Word file back to PDF

    With a software
    1.PDF Watermark Remover
    2, Select a sample PDF. All images within sample PDF will be listed in image watermark list window;

    3, Select one or multiple images that you want to remove, then add them to watermark removal list window;

    4, Click "Next >" button to a PDF document list window where you can add multiple PDFs which you want to remove watermark from;

    5, Click "Remove Watermark" button to start remove watermark from added PDF document automatically.

    You may also try following:

    1 - downloaded the pdf
    2 - open the pdf in illustrator
    3 - selected the watermark text
    4 - hit delete
    5 - resave as a pdf

      I have tried this but the problem is the document is about 700 pages long and there is a watermark on all pages and is linked to a website.

    Use the original Microsoft Word document or Excel spreadsheet that was used to create the PDF and create a new PDF file without the watermark. If this is not possible, proceed to step 2.

    Download a free trial copy of Adobe Acrobat and install it on your computer (see Resources below).

    Use the program to open the PDF file.

    Select 'Remove Watermark' and save the document.

    Convert the document into a Microsoft Word file if the above steps do not work. To do this, download the program 'Zamzar' (see Resources below).

    Open the new Word document in Microsoft Word.

    Delete the watermark text that overlaps the main text in the document and save the file as a PDF again. If this is not possible, proceed to step 8.

    Convert the PDF file to an image using Zamzar or by using the "print screen" key on your keyboard in Adobe Photoshop.

    Open the image in Adobe Photoshop.

    Select the watermark with the Magic Wand tool. Press "Delete" to remove it.
