I need help for my HP laptop to re-install my original Windows Vista Home Premium. I have CD key, but no recovery CD. Please can anyone help me?
download the trial version and use the key on it.
On any laptop there is hidden sector with OEM Windows OS installed, if you did not remove this sector or override it, you need press button F12, when your laptop starts running
do you have any option when on boot you press F11?
Performing a System Recovery
if you can find another hp laptop with Windows vista home premium
Recovery DVD set to boot from and reinstall
So bad I formatted the recovery partition of my laptop.
Read the full article carefully, download the Vista files and make a Boot CD as instructed. Then use your KEY. Probably you will have to activate it then over the phone. The link is http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/software-os/w/microsoft_os/3317.2-3-microsoft-windows-vista-official-iso-download-links-digital-river.aspx . Though is it a official DELL site, but not to worry, will work with your HP also. :)
you can download the recovery disk online
This type of recovery disk will not allow reinstallation of the OS; it is merely a way to access the recovery options that are on the Vista DVD.Rudy: If you know someone else who had a custom build done with Vista Home Premium, you could borrow their disc to do the reinstall as it should be an OEM version. In some cases a generic OEM disc won't work though. If you still have the original recovery partition available, you should be able to do a reinstall from that. On HP machines, pressing F12 normally gets you into the recovery utility. Or you could use the recovery discs you are encouraged to create when initially setting up the machine.
You can download demo Windows Vista and install in your system your key use when ask cd key and connect with net. i am sure your os complete install in your system.
If you are lost your personal file and folder then you read and recover your data. for more information see this post :
