Hello all!

Recently, a very embarrassing incident occurred. I forgot the password of my memory card when I inserted it in my new phone and when I put it back on the old one, it start asking for its password. Bam! I tried to connect my mobile to my PC with the memory card inserted, but it starts to ask the password before connecting as a flash drive.

Before everyone start to give me solutions of my problem, I would like to inform that both of the phones are non-S60 (one a s40 and other a Java-based OS).

When I searched MUO Answers, all the related questions were given for S60 devices.

Please help me solve the problem!

    Thanks a lot you all!

But my problem remains the same even now.

I came to know about the 'S60 method' when I was browsing through the internet, can anybody help me if the same can be done in S40?

Also, would Symbian Belle support this as I may use it?

Most simpler solution would be to connect it to PC and go to computer management---->disk management----->carefully look for the drive size which mathces your card's memory size and right click it---->format it.

S60 can do the job well.So If your friend has S60 then we can recover password.
Download FExplorer from Ovi store and install it in Phone memory (in S60 phone memory).
Now Insert Your Memory Card In to S60 Device but do not open it.
Run FExplorer & open the System In C:\System.
You will find a file called mmcstore Rename the file mmcstore.txt.
Open That File in mobile itself if you cant then Copy that file mmcstore.txt to PC and open the file in notepad.
Password is in that file only.

Here is a similar question here in Make Use Of:
Be cautious of some comments, since they tell you how to reset your phone, not you memory card password...
    Also, I would recommend:

    Option 1: Borrow a S60 mobile.
2: Take your mobile to nokia service center.
3: Try this software: Nemesis service suite
