What is the best price for the new 2012 MacBook Pro laptop?

Joe Rodeo May 2, 2012

The best price I’ve found so far for a 17 inch MacBook Pro is $1949.

Can anyone let me know if there is a better price? I need to buy 4 for my design staff.

    $0 is too good !!!

Get a proper computer (not some fruit based IT product !)

I'll be ducking now to avoid the flack !!!

Oh, I forgot to mention earlier, There is rumor that the 17" model might dropped, Of course, may just be that, a rumor... I sure hope so.

With the Apple Word Wide Developer Conference right around the corner, the one they often announce new MacBooks, buying a current gen MacBook may get drastically cheaper...

I hear the new 15" will be designed more like the Air with no optical drive. Haven't heard much else ...

Besides Apple Store refurbished units, I don't think you will get a much better price for a 17" Macbook http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/mac/macbook_pro/17

Unless you can get educational pricing.

        At $1949... No.

At the educational pricing you are only looking at around a $200 discount.

True. Where is it for $300 cheaper then?

They retail for $2499, I am surprised to see a new one at $1949 new... The refurbished units are the cheapest possible way to get a MacBook Pro for less, $1719, and still get a Apple warranty.

$2299 is base educational. Most of us usually upgrade at least the hd...then add Apple Care...
