Why am I not getting points for answering questions?

GrrGrrr October 12, 2012

I have noticed that I’m not getting any points for answering questions. Is it a bug, problem with my login, or something else?

I have logged-in using Twitter.

There is a limit to everything to avoid abuse.

I had this experience few days back and what I got to know is that, MUO contains spam alerter. if you try to spam and misuse the points the system will not reward you with points. and in the game guide, it clearly says that there is a daily limit for every action that we take. so if you don't get point for what you do, just don't worry about the point. do what you do, like answering, sharing.. cus it's a community work.

That's exactly the point, Dimal! We want to reward people who contribute, but we don't want to stimulate contributing just to collect points. Obviously, we have to improve the system further.

Sharing, commenting, and answering all have limits for gaining points. It's to prevent people from gaining a lot of points in a short period :o

You have received 170 points on Answers during the past 7 days. In total you have gained 2240 points on Answers.

There are daily limits for gaining points.

Now, I have noticed this as well. Is it just limited to the answers section?

Thanks Tina. Is there any daily limit or weekly limit, or Total limit
As I haven't answered in past 3-4 days.

There's a daily limit which is not specified so as to prevent system abuse.

Wouldn't people be able to guess the limit through trial and error?

Yes,they can guess it. Makeuseof doesn't tell it directly so as to prevent everyone knowing it.
