Actually I like Wise Care 365. You can use the free edition or
if it's available, use TrialPay to get the PRO version for free.

Check the "Common Cleaner" for what you want to keep.
For instance I had to Uncheck the "Other Applications"
    because I use Bit Torrent.
Each time I started Bit Torrent I had to re-configure it.

    Hope this helps,

"Unnecessary" is a vague and imprecise term. What is unnecessary to you may not be to me and vice versa.

But to answer your question - CCleaner. It provides you with a list of temp files, caches, installed apps. It also provides you with a list of unnecessary Registry keys, broken Startup links. CCleaner is a powerful tool that, if used incorrectly, can totally destroy your system.

CCleaner is the first program that I thought of. I'm sure other posters can suggest others that can do as good a job or better.

ccleaner should do that, also all talented windows cleaners should do that some shows only the path others should have right click menu to open the target folder.
