Windows 2007 is not available in the system. Microsoft Works and Wordpad are available.
Windows has WordPad under the Accessories Menu. It will open doc, docx and even Open Office odt extension files (too).
Jarte is similar to Atlantis Word Processor (not Atlantis Nova).
http://www.atlantiswordprocessor.com/ (30-day trial).
There's another program called the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack, which converts .docx Word files (and .pptx PowerPoint 2007-10 files, .xlsx Excel 2007-10 files, etc.) to earlier versions (.doc, .ppt, .xls, and so forth). But I believe it requires Office itself to be installed on the system.
Another option is to use the Windows Live Office (it's similar to Google Docs but from MS itself). Then re-download as a .doc file. Other similar services (online office suites) include Zoho (http://www.zoho.com) and ThinkFree Office (http://www.thinkfree.com).
You'd need a Windows Live ID (ex-Microsoft Passport) for Live Office, which is basically a Hotmail, Live, or MSN e-mail address -- or you can use your existing one at their alternate signup page (https://signup.live.com/?lic=1), but having a MSN account simplifies the process.
Use Google Docs, upload it there. No need to download.
Go open source, go OpenOffice!

Click on the picture of a pencil and paper that says "Blank Word Processor Document."3Click on "File" and highlight "Open." Click "*.doc" under files of type.4Look in the "My Documents" folder or the location where you save your documents. Highlight the *.doc file and click "Open."5Make any changes or edits to your document. Save and close out of Microsoft Works.Documents created in Word or Office (NOT the Works version of Word) may notbe compatible with Works. Especially if those docs were created using Word2007 or Office 2007.
