Can a Nokia N8 use Skype for video and voice?
thanks for that brothers.
thanks everyone for answering ... but I want some thing screwing to the N8 features ...
No it is not possible and I don't know why.
no you can use skype only for voice call
Use fring instead it works fine (though crashes sometimes)
no symbian phone supports skype video call (atleast wid d official skype app) cz to hav video chat, an app should use flash and I find merely any app other than the default nokia web browser or the opera mobile (not opera mini) using flash. This is why I feel the front cameras are useless to me cz I donot go for video call xcept it works as a mirror to me..
yes it will work
I apologise that I just noticed you have mentioned video call also, which is unfortunately not supported yet in symbian.
Skype for Symbian supports the following features:
Skype-to-Skype voice calling
Calling mobiles and landlines anywhere in the world (Requires Skype Credit or a subscription)
Receiving calls to your Online Number
Participating in conference calls
Sending texts and setting up sender ID
Sending and receiving files
Sending and receiving contact details*
Synchronizing Skype status with phone calendar*
Updating your mood message to show what you have playing on your Mplayer*
The following features are not currently supported:
Starting a conference call
*This feature is only available on the latest version of Skype for Symbian (2.0). It’s easy to upgrade – simply visit skype.com/m on your mobile browser and download the updated version or visit the Skype for Symbian homepage for more details.
okay! thanks but is there any custom update for it to be able to make V&V calls (voice&video)
you have responded it very well @Rajaa Chowdhury
I think you can! most of my friends said that it would work.
Yes it works. Download it from http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/get-skype/on-your-mobile/download/skype-for-symbian/# . See the compatible symbian phone list in the page and it clearly mentions Nokia N8 in it. :)
yes, you are right it is compatible and it can work
From what I've read it is capable of Skype voice calls but not video calls. An app called Fring apparently works though...
Nope, its work with Skype Video Call too
