I came across this before. I used my iPod to copy all my songs and videos onto my new windows pc.  Please remember to download the mac-formatted iPod to PC transfer program.

I was able to save the library on a flash drive, 8GB, and then save it in my PC Music file. Went well, not too painful! Thanks for all your help, Merry Christmas!

I don't have iTunes, but my daughter does.   I thought that once you purchased on iTunes you did not have to repurchase and you can re-download.   That way all the structure is maintained.
She has 2 Macs and 2 PC's and never had to copy between them.

You don't have to repurchase, however, I needed to go from syncing my iPod on a MAC laptop to a PC. They use different software so you can't use the same device on two different operating systems.
