How can I do live blogging using my WordPress blog?

I have a WordPress website and there is an upcoming event in my town and I would like to produce a live blog of it on my blog. I would like to know exactly how do I do this? Are there any plugins or any other manual coding methods that I could use? \

I want the live blogging aspect to be simple and to be able to upload photos, just like the CNET’s Apple event live blog.

Can someone guide me through this process?

    I know it's been a long time since this question has been posted but it's still unanswered.

    There are some free wordpress plugin in the plugin directory that you can download.

    I end up buying this plugin as it has a pre-made template that you can chose from and also animation style:
