What shall I do if my laptop screen is flashing?

zach October 5, 2011

My screen flashes and then goes back to normal. It keeps getting worse and makes a noise when it does! What should I do and how do I figure out if I have a 1 year factory warranty on my Compaq laptop that I just got this summer?

Hello, if as you say, your laptop is still under warranty why not take it back?  Also, when issues like this happen on specific designs, the manufacturer provides fixes and/or BIOS updates to fix the issues if known.  Have you checked the manufacturer's site for fixes and/or BIOS updates for you specific model?

this is a very well known hardware problem in the HP laptops .

most of the HP laptops have a basic design flaw in them , that causes this problem of screen flickering .

many users have been affected with this problem ,
just Google " HP laptop screen flickering " and you shall know what i mean .

you need to get it to a Laptop technician right away .
coz this flickering will keep getting worse with time , and eventually the screen will just flicker and hardly display any stable image .

if under warranty , take it to HP or to a hardware specialist ....

Zach, which model it is ? you can mail Hp here

but you can also go to your local vendor, they can tell you about the warranty .
you can check out if you still have the papers that mentions about your warranty or ask the local Hp from where you purchased laptop.
