I purchased a movie rental from iTumes and had no problem with the download but could not view the film as my computer froze each time I attempted to start the film. I had to reboot each time. iTunes became unresponsive each time. Any ideas?

This seems to be a rather common problem. The only fix I found was mentioned int he comments of the following article:

Recommended fix:
Create a new username in windows XP and download the rental movie there. Make sure to remove the folders “C:Documents and Settings[user]Local SettingsApplication DataApple Computer” and “C:Documents and Settings[user]Application DataApple Computer” from your Windows XP account that was broken.
