I called tech support for HP and they had me recover the system at an earlier date, so all is fine now. What isn't fine, is I bought a push2TV devise, expecting to be able to stream wirelessly but it requires Intel WiDi, which my computer does not have. It's a i5, so I thought they'd be no problem. DEFINITELY a problem. This computer, although it's less than a year old and an i5 will not support Intel WiDi. Has anyone else had this problem and solved it?

Unfortunately, there isn't really a solution to this. The PC either supports WiDi or doesn't, and many still don't.
Intel Desktop control center available here - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?keyword=%22%22desktop+control+center%22%22
It's not necessary unless you plan to try overclocking or like to monitor your CPU and motherboard.

I inadvertently uninstalled " Intel Control Center 1.2.1.1007". How can I reinstall it? Does it make any difference? KN

apparently will not hurt the system but it is better to have it on windows.
